Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Unconscious Bias Virtual Sessions

Diverse group of people meeting

Description

At the root of much human behavior are unconscious biases. Unconscious bias is a set of beliefs and assumptions we make about the world we may be completely unaware of. They are learned stereotypes that are automatic, unintentional, and have a profound ability to influence our behavior. The first half of this practical and informative session provides an overview of unconscious bias and examples of its impact in the workplace. Participants are encouraged to examine their own biases and assumptions to make more considered and consistent decisions. This session will further explore how biased decision-making may be problematic.

Significant data support the benefits of a diverse workforce. Demographics are not enough to create and maintain an innovative, effective, and collaborative workplace.

The second half of this timely session will help participants understand diversity and why it is essential in the workplace. They will also establish a deeper understanding of how equity can enhance the workplace and develop an action plan to create a more inclusive work environment.

This training course is designed to be accessible and meaningful to employees and managers alike concerned with successfully creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and ready to explore unconscious bias in the workplace. Participants will gain tools and strategies for a path forward.
